Special Effects Paints

I am new to this forum ...

Should this be in the Faux finishing area of the forum or the Painting area of the forum ....or does it get posted in both? Both would be best I guess.

I am planning to paint a small room (10' x 13'). It is a home office/study.

I like the suede and sand tones finishes. Any comments on which is brand is preferred would be appreciated. On is McCloskey and the other is Sherwin Williams.

I like the Suede finish better but the best color is the Sand Tone finish.

Sounds like a personal opinion. Sherwin is a reputable paint manufacturer, McCloskey is a faux specialist company, so both should be fine. Pick the one you like best.

prowallguy and other members....

Thank you for your reply. After reading heavenbound's painting disaster/faux painting .....I was concerned if what was used by heavenbound is the same product and I did not want to get into that same trouble. This is in the "Painting" forum area.

I really appreciate your feedback on this. Thank you, Thank you!

Read the new reply to Heavenbound's situation. I love my texture effect it's a mixture of both. It's not the real gritty & rough feel or the barely there feel, it's like a 100 grit sand paper feel.
