Question VP over paneling??

I have a very ugly 1970's kitchen: brown paneling, brown ugly flooring, brown ugly cabinets. (The only thing missing is the green shag carpet! LOL) I have seen several pictures of this VP in rooms that really make a world of difference. Can it be done over paneling? I want to brighten the kitchen with this look, but dont want to go to the extent of tearing out all the paneling. Any suggestions??

Thumbs up Venetian Plaster over paneling

Yes it can be done. Prime the paneling with a "best grade" of primer. The float the walls smooth, normally you would fill the paneling lines first, then float out the entire wall. After sanding to a near perfect surface you must prime again, and then you can apply Venetian Plaster. Good luck!
