faux finish on floor

Does anyone have any information on how to faux finish on a cement interior floor? I have previously done plaster walls, and a fireplace, but never a floor or cement. I may have to sand the cement first, because under the carpet the cement feels kind of rough.

faux finish HOW? are you wanting to just paint it, or stain it, or acid etch it, or what?

thereare products to make it look like stones of all kinds. there are also stains, paints, flakes, ect. what are you trying to get?

regardless, you will probaly be cleaning first. you can scrarate the floor or clean with a chemical cleaner. the cleaner is not as dusty as the scarator but the scarator gets the bumps off. once it is cleaned, then you can do any technique you want, providing you use products that are good for concrete floors. I would not recomend a glaze/paint mixture

faux finish on cement floor.

I would like it to look like some kind of stone. Have any of you done this or seen it done? The only pictures are on the internet. Bob Harris Guide to stained concrete interior floors.

This product works great. and is fairly easy to use. check it out at: http://www.hirshfields.com/daich/spreadrock.html

you can make it look like all sorts of different stones, rock, or other designs.
