Painting a faux brick wall--what colors?

I have a faux brick wall behind a wood buring stove. I am getting ride of the wood stove and thought about ripping off the faux bricks. Sombeboy suggested just paint them over. I have done some research about the process and now need ideas on what color to paint the mortar/grout and bricks. Any suggestions on the color scheme?

pick a color or colors that go with your flooring & furnishings.

or if all your woodwork is, say, painted white, you could paint the the bricks & mortar all white.

you could also just tone down what's there, with a light dabbling of diluted white or tan or black or something - allowing some of the current color to show through, but changing it slightly.

your options are pretty much unlimited. we'll need more info about your stuff to suggest anything.
