Sealing plywood joints

In a related post earlier, I wanted to paint plywood wall panels to get the semi-smooth look of drywall. Does anyone recommend a product to seal the plywood joints so as to resist cracking when there is movement?

About all you can do is use caulking and smooth it off with a putty knife. Personally I'm not that fond of trying to get plywood look like drywall although I have done it before. Any particular reason you aren't using drywall?

You could try to mud and tape as if it were drywall. I think I might go with mesh tape and setting compound in this case, probably would look for some kind of adhesive to apply to the plywood before putting the tape on as well.

I'd laminate the plywood with 1/4" drywall like was suggested in one of your other threads.
