Locating pipes in ground

I am about to build a fence, and we need to locate the pipes in the ground that marks our property line. Any suggestion about the easiest way to do this.

Underground Service Alert -- USA. This is a free service. Call your local utility and get their toll-free number. They will locate all of the service lines that supply your property -- gas, water, sewer, electric, t-phone, etc. You'll have to call at least 3 days before you start digging, but 2 weeks before would be better. You'll have to mark out the area where the digging will be done with white paint -- USA will give you all the details. Each of the utilities will come out and locate any lines they may have in the area.

If you call, and they locate, and you STILL happen to hit a line because they mismarked it, or DIN'T mark -- that's THEIR problem. If you DON'T call and then hit a line, you will probably be stuck with paying the repair costs. A toll-free call and a $3 can of white paint is simply TOO CHEAP of an insurance policy!!!
