removing old posts
I need to remove 6" round posts from a split rail fence before I build my new fence. They are set in concrete. My ? is..............How to remove. I am not to sure about diging them up, and I will not be using the holes. What is the best way to get the posts out deep enough to cover with sod.

If the concrete is a couple of inches below grade, you could simply cut off the posts at the top of the concrete and sod over them. Or, cut them off and add a little fill along the fence line to put the concrete about 2" deep, then sod.
I have also had some luck removing old concrete post collars by wetting the ground around them thoroughly, loosening the soil with a digging bar, and using the post as a lever to loosen the concrete and lift it out. But if the post is rotten at the top of the concrete, it will just snap off. Either way, it's gone.
