What is least costly 4' fence (needed to contain 3 yr old)

Goal is a 4' fence to contain 3 yr old (not privacy or looks).

Generally what is the least costly fence - wire, wood, vinyl, ?)?

thanks,
Lou

Do some checking.
Chain link is the cheapest, but since you only want 4', you could buy an 8' tall fence panel and cut it in half, rendering a 4' tall, 16' long panel. While probably still more than chain link, the difference in cost might be worth it.

well cutting a 8 panel in half would be far more work than its worth

8' would be hard to find most stock panelsare 6'

you would have to add supports on the cut peices .

look for used fence , check out the classifieds I see them under bldg materials all the time . look for used bldg material outlets

right now Im looking at 50' of 4' for 50.00 with the idea of making 25' of 8' out of it (far more practical than trying to cut one in half )

we got about 150' of 6' for 75 . lots of work to pull and resinstall but results where worth it

Chain link is going to be the least expensive, the longest lasting, and the one least likely to be damaged by a 3 year-old.

Great minds think alike, Mango; that's exactly what I was thinking before I scrolled down to your post.
