setting post near home's foundation

I'd like to have my fence close to my home. When I dig there, I hit the foundation footer; it sticks out a good ways.

Just wondering how to get around this problem. I found this link - see option 3, "Socket with a Baseplate".

Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

I'm assuming that the fence is going to be perpendicular to the house wall, and that there will be at least 2 posts involved for that section of the fence. Set the post closest to the house a couple of feet away from the wall, so you miss the footing. Extend the rails pat that post to the wall when you rail that section of the fence.
