Can i install metal posts for my 6' wood privacy fence, by tamping them in or do i have to dig a hole and concrete them in? my main problem is that i'm half way done with my fence with using 4x4's, and i was thinking about switching because my neighbors side of had shrubs and trees that are going over the property line and it is making it really hard to dig holes the rest of the way. let me know if this method will support the fence or not.
thanks

Metal posts only work well in good soil and not clay because of the small diameter.
The concrete gives you a wider area, so it works much better in questionable for the first foot ot two.
you are not trying to support the fence, you are trying to keep it from coming over with wet soil and wind.
