Best cheapest Fence for Dog

We want to get a dog but dont have the money to shell out for a fence. We have a green wire fence that is 4ft tall, mainly used to keep the neighbors trash out of our yard, that is attached to 7ft metal posts hammered into the ground. It is very easy to push and bend at the top and bottom between the posts. So we are afraid the dog will just push under the fence and get out. I noticed that on chainlink fences they have a metal piece that runs along the top and bottom of the fence to give it more rigidness.

Can this be accomplished with a green wire fence? or anyone have a cheap way to put up a fence to keep a dog in? I dont want to tie a dog on a leash outside, would rather it have the ability to run freely. We have 2 sides, 1 is 60ft long and the other is 100ft long.

Thanks
Matt

You would have to set all the poles in concrete for chain link. One thing you could do is install a dog run. A cable from the house to a tree or a pole across the yard then a cable from the dogs collar to the run cable. Pretty cheap untill you can put in a good fence.

Have you checked into the cost of invisible dog fence. This is usually far less than traditional fencing.
