Security Gate
My mom had a guy install a metal security gate for her front door a year ago. In the beginning it closed and opened fine. Now you have to use your body to get it closed or pull the door open and it's very loud. How can I fix this?
Thanks

Welcome to the forums.
Very hard to offer any type of help without seeing what you have there.

The first thing I would look at is to determine why it's not closing well. Has the gate itself racked or sgged? Or, has it's mounting post started leaning?

If that is the only spot that it scraps, then an easy but brute force fix is use a sledge hammer to knock that section out (use a block of wood to separate the hammer from the frame). I would.nt normally recommend this fix, but it has worked for me in the past. But before you go to those lengths, make sure the hinge screws or fasteners are tight. They will tend to loosen over time. Weather may cause the expansion and contraction of the door frame or the gate frame.

Look at the hinge side of the door. Is there a gap between the door and the frame ?
Possibly the hinges are loose or sprung.
