Concrete or no concrete in privacy fence post holes?

I live in central Virginia. Im putting in 250 ft of 6ft privacy fence. I know that the corner posts and gate posts need concrete, but do all of the posts in between need concrete?

Not sure why you feel you need concrete at the corner posts as they are the most stable posts in the whole fence.

I use 1/4 inch down (crush dust is not washed out) tamped limestone and it holds the posts as good as concrete in my experience.

A lot depends on the type of soil the posts are set in along with the force the wind is expected to exert on the fence. Do you have any neighbors with similar fences that you can ask?

95% of the time I compact crushed stone into the post holes. Only if there is a problem with the soil strength do I use concrete.

90% of the work is just digging the holes!

You know concrete is the ultimate so why not do it right, be done with it, and sleep better!
