You mean like the instructions at the top of every sub-forum telling you how to insert pictures?

Without any picture or any other conditions...most fences are either white or wood tone. I've seen a few black picked fences but they really don't quite fit in terms if looks. But a black picket fence does compliment black shutters on a house.
Keep in mind a black fence will absorb sunlight and get very warm on sunny days. That may increase the likely hood of warpage and might cause the paint to bubble or peel. Also at night it could be hazard since it won't reflect any light. Any hardware that is meant to be decorative won't look right if painted a contrasting color. In other words black hardware on a white fence or gate looks OK, but not white on a black fence.

In my neck of the woods a black fence was/is used as an insult.
When neighbors were not getting along and one of them had the fence on their property they would paint the far side black as a sign of disdain.
Always seemed to me that it was cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Anyways more info is needed.
If on a wood fence it will pull more heat and I would think that you would have to repaint it sooner.
But that would apply to any dark color.

Just did a GOOGLE about black fences. Learn something new everyday.
From: Horse Farm Fences & Fence Choices For Central Kentucky Farms
"Black paint wears better. You can paint black fencing once every five years and have it still look great. The white paint shows chips a lot faster. You'll need to repaint the white fence every two years."
Apparently blacked painted fencing is common on horse farms.
more quoting from site..."Black, 4-board fencing is the classic Kentucky look that prevails throughout the Bluegrass. This isn't a coincidence, and there are very practical reasons behind this popular fence choice. Let's talk about some of the elements that make (or break) a great horse fence:".
Additional Google searches reveals more reasons why black is a good color. Who knew?
