Hi everyone
The side of my yard is a trapezoid shape, how to I put the fence door so it won't be in an inclined position, i.e. how to get rid of the annoying angle?
Thanks
Install a vertical post with the top end of the post near or touching the wall. Fill in the triangula/trapezoid space with fencing material. Hang the gate(door) on the other side of the vertical post.
I have a pretty long cedar fence with treated 4x4 posts. The fence is probably 15-20 years old and most of it is fine, but I am noticing a few of the posts that were exposed to dirt are starting to rot. One totally fell over a couple years ago because a tree limb that I didn't notice pushed it over, so I removed the fence panel from each side of the post, dug out the concrete, and put in a new post. That was a particularly difficult because it was on a slope and they used a ton of concrete in the hole! It worked though, but I am hoping there is a better way to start replacing the others as they rot. Any other suggestions for replacing individual posts without having to dig up the concrete?Read More
My neighbor helped me locate my iron property/survey pins with an industrial magnetic locator, and two of the pins were pretty much 6-8 inches below grade, but the other two were at least 12+ inches down. The pin that was the deepest was located on a very steep sloped hill, and almost buried under an old growth tree.
The original survey was done in the mid-1950's, so how much movement due to natural forces could there be in regard to these old boundary markers? Specifically the ones buried the deepest?Read More
