BB Direction

Thanks for helping me with the knowledge on sighting my rifle in. The only problem I have is some of the time when fired at the exact same spot, the bb does not hit that same spot. Is it because every new bb gun has to get breaken in first before the bb's will allways hit the same spot every time?

Smile BBs Vrs pelets

A BB is a round ball & can be acted on in any direction by the sligest breeze. A pelet with a hollow sealing skirt & a good spin is imparted to the soft lead bullet.

The spinning pelet projectiles will act like a gryoscope, & the hard steel BB acts like a Golf ball, & can even climb up in a head wind. BBs are fun for shooting at the tin cans at about 15 feet. I use pelets for stray dogs that come wandering by, but only 3 pumps to teach them to stay out of the gardens. I worry a BB may not fly true & put a dogs eye out. It's not worth that for some plants, so we seldom use BBs, & we like those nice tight groups at 25 yards in the 10 & X rings using pelets.

PS: I have been using the RWS pelets in a tin for years, I like the Flat point Match & The Kodiak Magnum where more penitracion is needed. The coat a little more but I bought 3 tins 5 years ago & still have pleanty. It's real slow loading 1 at a time & 25 shots is a fun afternoon. Hoppes make a great cleaning kit in a handy round storage case.

Good Shooting

Thanks... I did not know that about bbs. I new the difference between them but did not know that they would come out the muzzle differently. I had already planned on buying some pellets before going onto the site. I was planning on buying the copperhead pointed pellets. I had learned that wadcutters were good for plinking and what not, but I plan to shatter bottles, and target wondering strays too. We get many here because people let there cats wonder wild. And then of course you got those dam birds that like to build a nest in your garage!

Next year I am planning on buying a 22 caliber handgun. Its a Benjamin Shariden made for Crosman, A Smith & Wesson Revolver, and a Beeman 1000 FPS jungle camoflauge rifle. So I think that next year I will have extra fun shooting. Again thanks for the help...

Smile Pelets

Benjamin Shariden Blue streak is not the most fancy air rifle I own, but that riffled brass barrel they have, will shoot into 1/2 inch groups at 25 yards using iron sights. Using a steel BB could mess up my brass barrel, now they do make lead BBs, but they cost more than the pellets & they are still BBs.

For the most fun at 10 pumps, I like the Magnum Hunter, by beeman or RWS they hit hard and fast.

Hay Marturo...

I was curious. You said you like the magnum hunter by beeman and the rws styles. Tell me...when firing pellets at the same spot on the target, does every pellet hit that exact same spot or does the group of pellets off by a bit? Cause thats how these bb's seem to be on my new crosman rifle. Each shot is off by a bit. Also could be as you said any slight breese. But then I did the firing in the garage where there was no wind and secured the rifle to a workbench vise. And even though it was secure, every bb fired aftor the first one would not hit the same spot, allways off by a bit. I was thinking, either this is normal for airguns, or this is just a normal break in period for any new rifle.

Still learning more about air guns as I like to shoot them but want to understand them better.

BB's are made cheaply!
They are not, each and everyone, perfectly round.
You will never get them to hit the same spot.
If you get a good group - be happy.
