i have two hand guns, (a ruger 22 semi auto and a intratec 9mm semi) i'm not a gun expert, but of the two, the ruger is clearly a nice piece, but the intratec looks like it is one step above a saturday night special. the trigger action seems very rough. it's a shame cause i found paperwork amoung my father in laws stuff. he used to have a nice .38 police special from the 1950s. he traded it and $500. to a gun shop for this intratec. not only was he somewhat paranoid in his older years wanting more "stopping" power, but i think he got taken for a ride by the gun shop. my father-in-law passed away some years ago and i inherited them. i have have cleaned and oiled them periodically. both are registered to me here in michigan, but i have never fired either. and i would like to do some target shooting and would probably like to shoot the .22. i'm not sure if i want to shoot the 9mm. i live in the subburbs, so shooting anywhere around the house is definitly not going to cut it and i don't think shooting in my basement would work either. is there any other alternative than to join a club? is there anywhere that you can shoot without belonging to an organization? I live on the west side of michigan, near the big lake. also any thoughts on the intratec? is my assumption correct that it's not exactly a collector piece?

I would like to know what any one thinks about a glock 40cal.i have always used a 357 to cary,mainly colt.also what is a good wepon for a woman to cary. thanks frank
