Marlin 60 .22 rifle
my dad gave me his old rifle a few days ago, but the lever action is jammed open. I'm not the most experienced person when it comes to guns, but I'm wondering if anyone can give me a tip on how to fix this problem.

A Marlin 60 is not a lever action. Do you mean the moveable action of the semi-automatic? It's called the breech bolt.
There are two styles. The is either a little button under the trigger guard, or, you grab the lever used to pull it back and either pull it out or push it in while pluued slightly aft.

On the model 60, you may have to pull the bolt to the rear and shake the bolt handle a little outward to release it. I would spray some wd40 into the bolt handle area beffore to loosen up and crud.
