Chris and I have recently purchased a HUD home and we are beginning to do a lot of repairs to this poorly conditioned home.
The first big step is to replace a fireplace that has termites, water damage, and wall damage. We are also going to throw out the ugly carpet and manually put in self adhesive ceramonic tile, going to have the roof replaced, all water/sink faucets replaced, repair a water connection to the outside sprinker/hose lines, repaint all the walls inside the home, repair a broken thermostat, repair comas in two bathrooms that are loose from the groung and its connections, replace exterior wood paneling that has water damage, and put gutters alongside the exterior of the house. Another big project that we may have coming is to enlarge the master bedroom's bathroom. For example put in two sinks with a large counter space and also to enlarge the closest space that is right next to the bathroom. Could you please help Chris and I with where to begin and end with this necessary repairs? Thank you.:confused:Read More
I have a fireplace with an insert. There is a gap along the top and sides where the insert sits in the original fireplace. I want to tile over this gap. My question is: What should I use for a backer for the tiles? This area has at least the potential of getting hot due to the way the insert vents into the flue.Read More
