want to build a fireplace

We found a great picture of an outdoor fireplace in a magazine. It's all stucco with a chimney, built into a corner of a patio wall. How do we go about building something like this? We want it to be wood-burning and one of the kids mentioned a pizza oven maybe in it. Any ideas?
Thanks!

mcleans,

First thing is to seek some fireplace plans that would provide assistance in your venture. Do a web search. Then apply for a building permit for your fireplace and to get information from local building authorities as to codes applicable for this.

Good Luck!

Go to www.Lennoxhearthproducts.com. They have the "Oasis" LSO-43 outdoor fireplace. You can burn wood or gas in it. If detached from the house, the minimum sytem ht. is only 7' 8". Will be much cheaper than trying to build masonry type.
Not set up for a pizza over though.

Fireplace building - thanks!

Thank you both for your replies. Money wasn't the issue, although it is always helpful to save whenever you can. WalMart sells inexpensive outdoor fireplaces, but we want a beautiful patio and the built-in one looks so much nicer - and it's confirmed - they want a pizza oven up top. We'll go to the library tomorrow and look for a book. We live in Bullhead City, Arizona so don't know what's going to be available. Thanks again!

Here's the picture

I have the picture from the magazine so you can see what we're looking for.
