moving a gas insert

We have a gas fireplace in our finished attic. It looks great, but since hot air rises, we really don't need it. We also have an old wood burning fireplace that we don't use (not sure how safe it would be) in our main floor living room where it can actually get drafty sometimes. Is it possible to move the gas insert from the attic into the old fireplace? Would that save money, or would we be paying for removal and installation -- therefore costing the same as just going out and buying a new insert?

bijoux,

Best advice I can give is to seek a professional to review what you have and go from there.

Good luck!
