The starter pipe broke off even with the firebricks on the floor of the fireplace. Should I get a pro to fix it or is it that big a problem and how do I go about it? Thanks. Cabov

Don't really know the details of your unit, age, how it works, but would have this advice.

You probably said those magic words "gas" and fire like in fireplace. The simple fact that you have to ask, says get someone who is experienced. It is a safety thing.

It may be a very simple thing, screw out the broken part, put new one in, but it sounds like you aren't comfortable with maybe even that.
