chimney sweep logs

Are those "chimney sweeping logs" any good to use between professional chimney cleanings? Or are they just junk?

Thanks, Luc

Recently I had a customer tell me, "I found out the hard way, they dont work"
I suppose the mechanic in a can or the plumber in a bottle can fix those related problems as well.

If you were to read the entire label of the chimney cleaning log it will tell you it doesnt replace the annual inspection and cleaning by a professional.

Between cleanings? Perhaps a false sense of security? Only you will know for sure.

I have also heard of sprinkling salt on the logs of a burning fire to prevent cresote build-up. Get it cleaned professionally and he/she can also tell you of any other problems you may have. Good luck.
