Installing a fireplace

Hi!

I was looking for some information about installing a fireplace in a room that doesn't have a fireplace. Can it even be done? How about a gas stove?
I have a room now that has never had a fireplace or anything of that sort & wanted to install one. Could this be done? How much do you think it would cost?
Thanks so much!

Fireplaces and gas stoves can be installed in most houses. It depends on how much you want to spend. A built-in will run around $2000 by the time you buy the actual unit and accessories you need such as chimney pipe and the surround. You can also get free-standing fireplaces such as Franklin stoves. Still not cheap. They also make vented and ventless gas stoves. Good luck.
