Tiled Fireplace
#1

I have just bought a new house and it has terrible tiles all around it. I would love to put stones/cement over the tiles. Is this possible or how should I go about this. I would so appreciate any advice. Thanks.

You can apply one material over another. Make sure the tile is solid and sound first. Also you must consider waterproofing if it is outside or in a bathroom.
Things to think about are footing or base, mechanical ties to vertical sub-straights and waterproofing.
Sometimes it is better to remove a layer before applying a new one.
