i need advice on how to construct a wall covered with stone to sheild the wall from a wood stove. mainly as a veneer.

whitewashing a fireplace

I have wallpapered my living area in hues of beige, now the fireplace needs to be lightened up. I was wondering if anybody knew what type of paint to use to whitewash it. thanks

I have just bought an old house with a fireplace - the tiles surrounding the fireplace are awful and I would like to know whether they can be painted over with tile paint as I have only seen this for kitchen and bathroom tiles. The fireplace will be being used and will need to be fire retardent. If there is such a product where will I be able to buy it? Thankyou Dawn Cort
