Our house is heated by Propane. We have a tank on the side of the house. Near where the line comes into the house is our freestanding fireplace chimney. We are currently switching the woodburning fireplace to a propane log fireplace. Our question is can we put a T at the regulator that goes into the house and run a line off that T directly to the fireplace? Our other option is to run off a T at the hot water tank in the basement which is quite a distance from the fireplace. It will also be difficult to run the line from the firebox into the basement.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello

What you want to do is OK but you have to make sure all fittings are gas fittings, pressure check the line before you use use the right tools to do the job if you are use a flair fitting make sure they are smooth and well shaped,
Propane is heavyer than air and it will stay around on the ground or any low spot and a spark can light it off.
Think save and work save.....
