If anyone has some suggestions I would much appriciate it. This is not a gas fireplace. This fireplace was originally red brick with the hard texture, and has been painted white. The fireplace has red tile bench style seat in front but facing room is more hard textured Now WHITE PAINTED BRICK! The brick fireplace goes up to the ceiling and down to the floor with the bench seat I mentioned. Is there a way to repaint with brick paint to make this worth looking at? Also can the texture be smoothed out? Trying to do this on newlywed finances and retiling seems way to out of price range!

brickfireplaced

Why not consider stripping the brick and bringing it back to the original, Suggest you use PEEL AWAY 7 which will remove the paint easily for you
