How to connect gas fireplace igniter wires

I have a Lennox Elite Series gas log fireplace. I could not get it to light at the start of the season. I took the face plate off underneath and found the two wires for the igniter were not hooked up. I am not sure what they go to. 2 wires, one white and one black. I see the TPTH, TP and TH....there is one connection peg open on the TP for one of the two wires to slip on.... Not sure what to do.

Welcome to the forums.

This was a working insert and sometime over the summer the wires became disconnected ?
The wiring on the gas valve is not the igniter wiring.

There should be two wires from the pilot generator and two more wires from a thermostat, if used, connected to the valve. The pushbutton igniter should only have one wire on it.

TP= Thermopilot = pilot generator
TH= Thermostat

So the two wires from the pilot generator should be connected to the TP terminals and the two wires to the thermostat connected to the TH terminals.
