black stove pipe vs galvanized stove pipe
I'm sure this has been argued before but a recent customer came in our store and was trying to choose between 8" black stove pipe and the same gauge galvanized pipe. I honestly did not have a clear answer for him. I told him I normally see black within the cabin or house and the galvanized above the roof. Is there a difference? And if so why?

Don't know for sure but I suspect the black pipe will look better after so many fires. Also when brazing galvanized steel it puts off a nauseous fume which non galvanized metal doesn't I don't know if that would play a part or not.

I've always heard that heating anything galvanized is not good due to the fumes given off. IMO, outside only.
