Country Comfort CC300 Gas?

I purchased a home that i believe has a Country Comfort CC300. I was wondering if there is any reason this would have a gas line running to it? There is a “key hole” which I associate with gas inserts and I went under house and it looks like a gas line the goes into the chimney. could this be from a previous gas insert or would the CC300 use this gas for anything?

I'll state the obvious. Look at it and see what it's using the gas for. Many fireplaces are plumbed with a gas line and valve during construction. Sometimes it's used for a fire starter or gas logs but it's possible it's not being used.

As far as the manual....... no need for gas in that wood burning stove.

Thanks for comments and help. Pulled out CC300 insert and the gas line was capped underneath. Must have been used previously with gas insert or as a starter for wood.
