How to remove a fireplace insert

OK, I have reached this project in my newest home of renovations and I left it for last as I do not know where to begin. How do I remove this fireplace insert? I believe it has been in the house almost since the house was built in 1979.

All advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thank,

Doug

The picture are good. I see the cord behind the upper corner of the frame so the frame isn't attached to the brick. No visible silicone. Some use a type of clamps while some are held in by just weight.

Does that door open ?
Have you tried sliding it out ?
If there is an access panel in the bottom you may be able to locate a make and model number.

All inserts I have seen are just slid into position. You can lay something like a piece of luan or a floor mat on the brick to help protect it against scratching. I open the door so I can get a good grip on the top of the opening to lift & pull.

Thank you both for your replies. How heavy do you think this might be? Is it a one person or two person job? I have already removed all the fire brick tiles from the inside.

Thanks,

Doug

They are several hundred pounds. I can shuffle and move one by myself and pick up a side when it's outside the firebox.
