Gas fireplace replacement

We have a ventless natural gas fireplace, it's an old one that I can't get parts for anymore. Is it possible to just replace the burner and gas control system? I'm still figuring out how these types of things work. Behind the access panel there are 2 plug ins. One for the blower and one for the gas system. It has a wired remote to turn it on. I would really like one that has a thermostat

In my personal opinion, any unvented fuel burning appliance should be outlawed. As a service person & firefighter, I've seen too many problems with them.
