Duct from range hood. How long is too long?

Our range rood is currently vented to the garage. I'd like to run ductwork to the outside, through the garage roof. That will require around 15-20 feet of ductwork with, at least, one 90 degree elbow.
Is that too long? We'd be willing to replace the range hood with a unit with a more powerful fan if needed.
Our current range hood is an Allure By Nutone.

Thanks in advance!

A standard exhaust hood is not strong enough.
The installation instructions for most units describes the venting system limitations.

You can post the model off your current unit.
They do offer high performance units that should work ok.
