Fireplace design

My wife and I want to have a fireplace built this summer. We have both been searching in vain on the web for design pictures. We have an idea of what we want but would like to see other peoples idea's. Are there any good books or sites that can help us out. Thanks for any info.

Try the magazine rack at one of the larger bookstores - there are tons of house,home and buiding magazines that have many pictures of fireplaces with very unique designs........

How do I supress FP Blower noise

I am installing a compact Comfort Glow vent free fireplace w/ optional blower in my basement and I am wondering if there is a way to isolate the blower from the FP housing so that the noise created by the blower isn't amplified by the housing? In theory, if I can isolate the blower from the housing I can make most of the blower noise go away. In any other situation I would just put rubber washers between the FP and the blower housing and between the blower housing and the attaching screws so it could 'float' but due to the high heat I don't know what material to use. Can any one suggest a good way to accomplish this without introducing any flammable objects into the FP? Thanks!Read More
