Attic Floor 7/16 vs 1/2 OSB

I want to make my detached garage attic into usable storage. It was started at some point by someone. Would 7/16th be enough thickness for this?? Or spring for the 1/2"?? The 7/16th is about $4 cheaper and i need at least 8 sheets. so it would be a good cost savings...

Personally I would go with the 1/2" if you're going to use OSB, it really is noticably stiffer than the 7/16", but I would also say that if this were my house I'd be using plywood. Good luck.

I will at least use 1/2" then. I've heard that from a guy at work, just wanted another opinion. Is plywood that much better?? The reason for the OSB was that there are already a few sheets up there from when the garage was built 10 years ago. It seems to be in good shape. How would the plywood benefit me over the OSB?? I won't be keeping anything to crazy up there, but i want it to be sturdy. My joists are the length of the garage, 24', by 8" and 16" on center.
Thanks for your opinion...

There is one other thing to consider. Is the bottom cords of the trusses in question capable of handling any kind of extra load without creating a sag of any kind. I would use the 1/2" CDX also it is quite a bit better.
