new wall in an old house

I've put up plenty of walls in new construction homes and am pretty comfortable with that, but im wanting to add a couple of walls, one is a small divider coming off of an exterior wall to break up a room a little and the other is coming down from the middle of a vaulted ceiling that has the main beam exposed, and just comes straight down with space on either end of the wall. I'm just not sure about what the easiest way to get these walls look original as far as mating them to the existing ceiling, walls, and floor.

Thanks

Jeff

They're just like new construction, except that you toenail the top an bottom plates instead of lapping them.
