Fed up with drilling into concrete!!!

I need some other options- I am building a small partition in basement- non load bearing... I need to fasten a 2x4 to the floor and a few furring stript to wall for shelving. Every time I try and drill into floor (with right drill bit)- It seems I get nowhere- I was able to drill a hole last night but the masonary screw would not go in- it kept breaking. Then I tried masonary nails and they will only go in so far- I don't think just using adhesive is strong enough...
Anyone have any tips??

Are you using a hammer drill for the concrete? Makes it a lot easier. I think I'd stick with screws for walls. For the floor though you can also use a powder nailer. They are cheap and can probably be rented too.

Three words, powder actuated tool, or PAT. The operate using a .22 round loaded behind a specific length nail for your application. IIRC you can still find the inexpensive ones that you load up and then strike with a hammer at HD and Lowes. If not your rental center will have one and sell you the "pins and loads".
