Wood Creep

Wood Creep
My kitchen floor bows due too (wood creep?). Evidently the bay window is not supported properly from underneath. Is this a common problem and how do you fix it?

Wood Creep, never heard of that term before. Round here we just call it a sagging floor. What kind of access do you have to the underside of the floor? Need to get down underneath there and see what's going on. There are numerous things that could be causing this, but someone is going to have to get under the floor & take a look.

A bay window whose floor joists are unproperly sized and supported with a properly engineered cantilever will cause a floor to bow UP at the point the joist terminate under your floor.
You'll need a structural engineer or a contractor well trained in structure to calculate the loads and to make the changes necessary to correct the problems.
