second floor sub flloring

we currently have a 2 story home...the second floor is squeaky and also you can hear people walking when you are on the first floor...the sub-floor is currently 3/4 tongue & groove plywood. what options are available for fixing this problem?

Hello and welcome aboard!

The squeaks could probably be dealt with by adding screws thru the existing sub-floor, after removing the carpet & pad. Putting down an additional layer of subflooring, glued & screwed down over the existing one, and use a premium quality pad under the new carpet. HTH and Merry Christmas! :glocke:
