Setting trusses on hangers

I'm building a carport/workshop that will incorporate Fincke type trusses spanning 21 ft. One end will be stubbed with an approximate 18" heel height and be supported by a doubled 2x10 beam.

well....it was until my wife said she didn't want a beam in the room.

So....can I do the same thing, but use (joist?) hangers to support the trusses?
If so, are they a special order type of hanger, or do off-the-shelf joist hangers work?

it depends on the reaction

but if the base span was 21' and your stubbing it then a standard hanger should work. I assume you know that you must attach these to a girder truss that is designed to carry the load. The hanger you select must be verified that is can be attached to the bottom chord of the girder correctly
