Uneven Subfloor Help
I'm trying to lay laminate floors in my basement. A very small section is raised up about 1/4" to 1/2" in a "hump". It's sloped just enough that any straight edge that is layed across it won't lay flat.
Can I use a concrete grinder to even the surface? How deep do they grind? If not, what are my options? Will laying a subfloor resolve this? I'd hate to use a self leveling product, as the area is only maybe 1' x 4'. Any help is most appreciated.

a grinder with a cup-stone will work. the biggest issue will be dust. I would build a large, ceiling to floor tarp tent to block dust from the grinding process. Venting to outdoors would be good too. Wear proper safety gear and a silica dust rated mask.
best wishes.
