pt sill plate

I will be attaching 2 12' walls to my basement floor. Is it ok to use nails or is it better to use glue? These are non load bearing. The nails seam to tear the floor up pretty good. Thanks for your help.

Fasteners

Even though your partitions will not be load bearing, they still need to be fastened to the concrete floor by Code.

Glue alone is not an approved fastening method.

You can use alternate fasteners to nails some of which include using Tapcon screws or even epoxy based anchors.

Use a powder nailer. You can rent one or buy a single shot fairly cheap. Just be sure to purchase the correct load and fastener for your job. They are easy to use and fast.
