Question what to do if basboard does not meet floor?

Help! What can I do...the baseboard does not meet the hardwood floor in certain areas of my home. I have been told to caulk these spaces between the baseboard and the hardwood floor. It has something to do with the concrete slab I have been told. Is there something better than just caulking inbetween these spaces? Thanks KS

You could caulk, or scribe the baseboard to match the floor.

You need baseshoe in any room where the baseboard does not reach the floor. Baseshoe is a 1/2" x 3/4" molding with a 1/2" roundover. It's flexible enough to push down against the floor tightly, and it gets nailed through the baseboard.

you could scribe it, but you would find it easier to achieve good results installing shoe. Don't caulk it will look terrible.
