Plywood over rigid foam

Hi,
My question is whether or not 3/4 plywood layed over 1/2 rigid foam on a concrete floor would be a suitably rigid base for a tile floor.
I know that ideally I should place wood stringers on the concrete with foam in between but finished height is an issue here.
thanks.

Any slight movement in the floor would cause the floor to crack. You are better off installing sleepers with the 3/4 ontop and the rigid foam in between the sleepers. There is no issue with height because you could use 1x3s, instead of 2x4s.
