Partition wall on slab
I am redesigning my entry foyer and powder room. I would like to put the new walls right on the existing slab which was pour in the 1950s or earlier. Should I put any type of barrier between the plate and the slab?

Lay an 8" wide strip of 6 mil poly on the slab under your bottom plate and wrap it up the sides of the 2x.

PT indoors???
As I understand it, the danger with CCA was mostly associated with small particles (sawdust) generated during construction. Once installed CCA treated PT was pretty benign. There was some concern about CCA treated wood used for playgrounds because of the possibility of leaching and sawdust remaining in the area.
If your slab has so much moisture that it will rot a PT sole plate unless it has a moisture barrier installed, you've got more problems than deciding what type of lumber to use.
A quick way to check for moisture is to tape a small square of plastic on the slab. Check it after a day or so to see if there is any moisture underneath.
