Damage after carpet cleaning

Hi guys...first post to the forum...

Here's what happened:

I rented a carpet cleaner. Not exactly sure what happened, but after getting the carpet cleaned, the subfloor is seriously damaged in several places (I can see the lumber pushing up through the carpet and there are now several high areas throughout the carpet).

Any suggestions about what I need to do?

Thanks!

Chris

I went ahead and pulled the carpet. Appears that the subfloor is OK. Seems that there was a hardwood floor under the carpet. Several sections of the hardwood floor are badly warped. Those sections can be replaced, correct?

Not sure what happened, but the flooring can be replaced. DIY carpet cleaning is not recommended as the machines you can rent lack sufficient power to extract moisture from carpeting. This could be why your floor warped.

Mitch -

Thanks. Can you direct me to any resources that would show me how to replace the damaged sections? How do I go about cutting out the bad parts and repairing it.
