lifting balloon framing

lifting balloon framing

any advice on lifting a two story structure with balloon framing. i need to replace the sill so im trying to figure out a good way to lift the walls and floor joist together. ty

Yikes! That sounds like a big job! You might find some info in "This old house" website, as they are forever lifting houses. From what I know about it, you'll need a bunch of floor jacks and some very sturdy beams to pull this off. Then you'll also need a bunch of friends willing to sit underneath a house on jacks, so all the jacking points can come up at the same rate.
