Floor Support

A year ago my friend bought a house and in his unfinished basement there were some steel supports. They went from the floor to the celing, were about 4 inches in diameter and had a screw-type adjustment at each end.

Does anyone know what these things are called and where I can get some?

Thanks.

Lowe's or Home Depot.

They are called Jack Posts. Look in the building products area. Should be around there somewhere.

They may be called Lally Columns. You can get these support columns at Home Depot.
