advantech really better??

Is advantech really better than other exposure 1 rated subfloor materials? Seems to me that if the APA exposure 1 rating means anything, as long as the subfloor material is exposure 1 it may not be worth it to pay a premium for advantech

Joey: not sure what you are having to pay for Advantech, but it only runs about $21 here. Of course there are other brands out there, such as HomeAdvantage, sold by HD, but I think it runs $19, so there is only a slight difference in price. Both are fine for the underlayment. What you want to look for is the water resistant impregnation to prevent water damage prior to drying in. Don't think OSB will give that protection, as it is not rated for it. It is good that you are doing your homework at this level, as it is very important.
